CRA Competition Classes

Featherweight

Featherweight

These bikes may be low on horsepower, but they lack nothing in the excitement department. This class features some of the closest racing in the club!

Ultralight

Ultralight

A step up in horsepower from Featherweight adds to the excitement!  The Ultralight class only runs GP, so it’s open season on the mods!

Lightweight

Lightweight

A popular class in the CRA, Lightweight bikes feature a wide range of new and old models such as Aprilia RS660, KTM 690, Suzuki SV650, and Yamaha FZ07

Welterweight

Welterweight

The Welterweight class was initially created to create a dedicated class for the more custom motorcycles, like the Kramer 690cc based bike. Incredibly lightweight and maneuverable with decent power, you will see some great racing and tight passing.

Middleweight

Middleweight

Perhaps the most popular class, Middleweights feature great handling with mid-range power, leading to some incredible battles up front.  These bikes are typically the 600cc inline 4’s, some 675 Triples, and other 100+ hp bikes.

Heavyweight

Heavyweight

Between the popular Middleweight and high power of Unlimited sits the Heavyweight bikes.  This class is often “MW Round 2” as most of the bikes are bumping up from Middleweight, but we often see  Ducatis, & other bikes not eligible for the MW.

Unlimited

Unlimited

This is where horsepower really shines! These bikes average over 200hp and speeds in excess of 200 MPH! This is where the text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text

Speciality

Specialty

In addition to the other classes, the CRA also runs a number of specialty classes, such as the Formula 40 (riders 40 years of age and up), Sportsman, Super Twins, etc. Please see the rulebook for other specialty classes

Motorcycle Divisions

Supersport

This is as close to “off the dealer floor” as you can get in racing. Supersport motorcycles are based on D.O.T. approved production motorcycles sold by manufacturers and their dealers for street use. Best division to get started in racing.

See Section 7 – Supersport Motorcycles in the CRA Rulebook for more info.

Superbike

This division is where you get to start to play with internals. Superbike motorcycles are based on D.O.T. approved production motorcycles sold by manufacturers and their dealers for street use.

See Section 8 – Superbike Motorcycles in the CRA Rulebook for more info.

Gran Prix (GP)

About as open season as you can get with the CRA! See Section 10 – Grand Prix (GP) Motorcycles in the CRA Rulebook for more info.
