This race will be held on Saturday of August weekend (short track). We will allow both solo riders and teams. Teams will consist of 2-3 members. Any size bike may be on the team, however, you will be scored according to the largest displacement bike on the team. This is a “pony express” style race, meaning each team member can use their own bike or bikes can be shared, whichever you prefer. If your team has mulitple bikes, all bikes will carry the same competition number. This number will be the competition number of one of the team participants. If you choose to ride solo, you can not ride for more than 80 min in one session. This will pretty much be run exactly like the 5 hour as far as rules, with a few additions. Bike classes will remain GP1 (UL), GP2 (LW), GP3 (MW) and GP4 (HW). N250 bikes do not qualify for this race.
Hot Pit
1) There will be a strict speed limit of 45 MPH on the hot pit lane, monitored by radar. The start and finish of hot pit will be marked with cones.
2) Teams may have 5 crewmembers that assist on the hot pit. Crew assisting on the hot pit lane must wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
3) Refueling of the motorcycle can only happen when the rider is off the bike, the bike is on a stand and the engine is off.
4) Teams will be allowed to have the next bike in pit lane prior to the pit stop. The bike must be on a stand, the engine off and the rider off until the transponder is switched and the previous bike is fueled.
5) Each team must provide a fire extinguisher for the hot pit lane by their designated pit area.
6) Pit boxes will be set up from the control tower back toward pit in.
Scoring:
1) All timing and scoring will take place using AMB transponders.
2) Each team is allowed one transponder. In the event of a crash, the transponder will need to be retrieved from the crashed bike to be placed on the next bike to continue scoring.
3) The winning team is the team that completes the most laps during the 3 hour event. The total time of each team will be taken for scoring purposes. Number of laps will be the primary scoring method. In the event that more than one team is on the same lap the team completing the most laps in the shortest time will be declared the winner.
Registration:
1) Entry fee is $90 per team at the track, $75 per team pre-registered. Please have one member of your team pre-register/register.
2) Grid positions will be determined by qualifying sessions that will take place during the final 3 practice sessions in the morning (slow/medium/fast). One rider from each team will register their transponder as the official team transponder before the practice session. Only times from that transponder during the final practice of the morning will be considered valid for qualifying and the race.
