Posted: January 11, 2016 by President in Announcements

The 2016 CRA New Rider Seminar will be held Sunday, March 20th at MotoPrimo Lakeville from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

MOTOPRIMO LAKEVILLE SUPERSTORE

http://www.motoprimo.net/map.htm

New Riders will have the option of paying the full $185 fee that covers the following ~ NR School, 2016 License, Friday practice, Transponder Rental (on your New Rider weekend) and the New Rider Race and Membership for that season.

Or paying $20 which only covers the classroom portion presented in March at the New Rider Class at MotoPrimo.

The fees stated above are based off the 2015 fee schedule set by the CRA and may possibly change for 2016.

Anyone who completed the classroom portion last year (March 2015) but did not do the on track portion will need to contact Bob Barton at
vp@cra-mn.com to find out the details as to what fees are or are not applied to the 2016 New Rider classroom program.

You can come early to register and fill out and turn in necessary forms on that day. No need to preregister for this. You also can not preregister for a race until you have met and completed the requirements of the NRS..

On behalf of the CRA, I would like to extend a huge Thank You to MotoPrimo and their staff for hosting the Seminar. This is a great venue.

I have been in contact with MotoPrimo and have been told they have had a management change in the parts department. I am hopeful they will be able to put together special one day pricing/discounts like they have in past years for the NEW Rider Seminar students and CRA membership on that day (March 20th 2016)on merchandise.

More details as to what merchandise products, brand names, ect. will be coming soon. As soon as I know I will pass along the info. Exact numbers can not be made public because of contract agreements with their suppliers and vendor, however in the past the discounts have been significant. Discounts will be on parts, supplies and gear both in stock parts and special order.

The special one day (March 20th) pricing on merchandise at MotoPrimo is available to all current 2016 CRA members. Members only, MotoPrimo is not open to the public for this is a private event for the CRA.

Check this post often as it will be updated as the date nears. I will highlight any changes in red.

There will be a credit card machine there to accept your payment for the CRA NRS Seminar if you choose to pay that way.

First call to grid!

New Featherweight class for 2016!

Posted: December 16, 2015 by President in Announcements, Press Releases

We are pleased to announce the CRA will be adding a NEW weight class, called Featherweight.  This race will be run as a separate wave during our Ultralight race.

The rule was proposed at our annual rules forum, and we are excited to see it take off next year.

It will adhere to traditional SuperSport, SuperBike, and GP modification structure.

Displacement limits:
1) Up to 375cc 4-stroke single cylinder machines
2) Up to 325cc 4-stroke twin cylinder machines

This should include the Yamaha R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR 300, and the KTM RC390 (and of course anything else fitting the displacement guidelines)!

Happy racing!

2016 CRA/CCS dual events!

Posted: December 2, 2015 by President in Announcements
You heard it right, 2 dual events!

The CRA will again host CCS during our June weekend for what should be another fantastic event.  Last year we had packed grids everywhere and received lots of great feedback so we are going to continue the trend!

We would also like to announce the addition of a SIXTH weekend to the CRA schedule.  CCS has invited our club to run at their huge 4th of July event at America’s National Park of Speed, Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI).

This weekend will be an action packed weekend from start to crowning of national champions! Tentative plan is extended practice with GTs and Team Challenge race Friday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday will feature a single race format for the CCS/CRA, USGPRU, ASRA and AMA Road Race Grand Championships races. With this single event format the races will be of additional length.

2015 BoD Election Results

Posted: October 8, 2015 by Membership in Announcements, Elections, Membership

Greetings to all CRA Members,

This communication serves to inform the Membership of the results of the 2015 CRA election for Board of Directors. This year’s election, held in accordance with the official CRA by-laws and executed according to all applicable state laws, presented the Club with a similar circumstance to last year. Before I go into the details of what is coming next, I will take this opportunity to congratulate Jon Champ on his re-election to the Board!

So, what about the second seat? As with last year’s election, this year’s election was valid per the number of ballots received as a percentage of our active membership as of the date of record. However, no single remaining candidate received enough votes to constitute a majority of the ballots cast.

The CRA by-laws state: “A majority of the total number of votes cast by the members for each Director’s seat to be filled shall prevail.” This means that each open seat must be filled by a candidate that has acquired enough votes to be considered a majority of the ballots received.

This means the CRA will hold a special election in the next few weeks to elect the second board member for 2016. We will assemble and mail a new ballot for the remaining single open seat indicating the remaining candidates and space for a write-in candidate. Voting eligible members (members as of the date of record – October 6th, 2015) will cast a single vote for one of the remaining candidates, or use the write-in space to indicate their single choice. A special election meeting will be held on November 7th at 12:30pm at the Richfield VFW to certify the special election results. Voting eligible members can either submit their ballot via mail (must be received realistically by November 6th as the mail will not have come in yet on the 7th), or it may be delivered in person on election day. The new ballot will indicate these same details.

If you have any questions regarding this information – please contact the Board for clarification.

Again, congratulations go out to Jon on his re-election, and we as the CRA Board of Directors look forward to completing our election process on November 7th.
