The 2014 Central Roadracing Association season got underway May 9-11 on Brainerd International Raceway’s Competition Course.

The Unlimited class provided some of the closest racing during the weekend with Scott Stall prevailing in two very tight battles over Pat Stewart. The Unlimited Superbike race showed everyone how aggressive Stall is willing to be to take the victory with a bold, but fair, pass in turn 6 on the last lap. Stewart looked set to make a last lap pass of his own in the Unlimited Grand Prix race but was unable to get enough drive out of the final corner to make the pass on the run to the finish line.

The Middleweight and Heavyweight Expert classes were dominated by Scott Stall. Taking home victory in all three Middleweight races and two of the three Heavyweight races, the only other winner was Kaleb DeKeyrel. Former race winner Cole Speer increased his competitiveness through the weekend and was preparing to mount a challenge on Stall in the Heavyweight Superbike race but ran out of laps to do so.

The Lightweight and Ultralight Expert races were all about Christian Schmidt who was in a class of his own in all three races in each class. Showing the same type of domination across multiple classes in 2011, Schmidt looks set to make a run on the 2014 championship and will be a rider to watch as he tries to get similar results in the Middleweight and Heavyweight classes in the coming rounds.

The Middleweight and Heavyweight Novice races featured great battles between Dan Krambeck and Clark Davis, with Krambeck taking four victories throughout the weekend. Davis brought home two first place finishes and James Michaelson was able to notch his first career win in a strong start to his 2014 season.

Lightweight Novice saw David Burke and Dave Pederson both take their first victories in a field somewhat depleted by injuries. Will the confidence Burke and Pederson be enough to take the fight to Luke Trombley and Drew Sivertsen when they return in June?

To find out, join us June 13-15 on Brainerd International Raceway’s incredibly fast Donnybrooke Course!

Trackside Labs is ecstatic to be the newest member to the Michelin team providing tire support for the CRA.  As a result, Michelin has graciously decided to sponsor Middle Weight Super Sport and the New Riders Championship for the 2014 racing season.

Payout Structure for Middle Weight Super Sport (expert and novice)

Payout Structure for New Riders Championship

First Place $100

Second Place $75

Third Place $50

Forth Place $25

Fifth Place $25

Update: May Pre-Registration

Posted: April 21, 2014 by Race Registration in Announcements

Hello Racers!

After several hours of trouble shooting the checkout issues with the CRA Store, the decision was made to move to a New Store provider. The new store is set-up and several tests have been made to ensure that it works as expected.

Pre-Registration will open Wednesday, April 23 at 8PM and will remain open until Saturday, May 3 at 8PM.

Since we moved to a new store provider, you will need to create a new user name and password. You can access the store using the same link on the CRA Website Homepage.

If you have any questions, please contact Kim or me at racereg@cra-mn.com

Thank for all your patience,
