2014 Contingency – Dunlop Tires

Dunlolp Tires is sponsoring CRA riders for the 2014 season, with similar rules to 2013.  Of note, (and a change from early season 2013) there must be a minimum number of 8 riders start the race to qualify.  Also note, please enter only the weight division for each class (Middleweight, Lightweight, etc) in the “Classes entered” section.

Please download and fill out the 2014 Dunlop Contingency Claim Form; blank copies will also be available from Contingency at Tech.

Dunlop has not yet updated their site to include the CRA, but we have received confirmation that we are in the 2014 program.  We have not yet received confirmation on the payout schedule, but are assuming it is the same as the 2013 Dunlop Payout schedule, until further notice.

2014 Contingency – Yamaha

Yamaha Motor Sports is sponsoring CRA riders for the 2014 season for all 2013 or newer R6’s and R1’s purchased in the US.  Full rules are available here.  Note that the Yamaha site incorrectly lists the CRA as having 6 events, this has been corrected with Yamaha.

The racer must select Yamaha contingency on the CRA form and must comply with all Yamaha rules, including the placing of the Yamaha Tuning Fork logo on the bodywork, as specified by Yamaha.

The form W-9 must be supplied directly to Yamaha Motor Sports prior to the October 31st deadline.

2014 Contingency – Bridgestone Tires

Bridgestone Tires is sponsoring CRA riders for the 2014 season, with similar rules to 2013.  Of note, there must be a minimum number of riders start the race to qualify: for 1st/5 starters, 2nd/8 starters and 3rd-5th/10 starters.  Also note, please enter only the weight division for each class (Middleweight, Lightweight, etc) in the “Classes entered” section.

2014 CRA Rulebook Addendum

Below is a link to the Addendum to the 2014 Rulebook.  For those that have not yet received their membership info, a printed copy of this will be included in your packet.  Additional copies will be available at Tech during the May weekend.

Please note that this Addendum supersedes the 2014 Rulebook in the areas it covers.  All other sections of the rulebook are to be considered valid.

CRA Website Maintenance 2/27 & 2/28

2014 Garage Stalls for Donneybrooke course

I’ve uploaded a template for the garage stall reservation for the Donneybrooke course, please use this to select your options on your membership applicaiton for garage rental for June and September weekends.   Remember that while we will try to accommodate your request, garage stalls are given out based on trying to best share the limited spaces we have available.

2014 Membership

Welcome to 2014!

All members from 2013 should have received their applications in the mail now, if you have not please let me know at Membership@cra-mn.com.  For those of you that have more than one member per household you may have received two or more applications in one envelope so please verify you have enough applications.

For those of you that are new to the CRA, or have not received your membership application, you can download the forms here:

Please complete these and return postmarked by no later than February 15, 2014 to assure you retain your current competition number.

What’s new for 2014?

  • Some new layout changes are being worked through for the Donneybroke course, as well as additional curbing.  Stay tuned to MNSBR for details.
  • We are continuing our commitment to adding new Racing members for 2014 and will be continuing the New Racer incentive program.  If you refer a new racing member to the CRA, you will receive a free sprint race once that new member has completed their New Rider’s School. A new line appears on the Membership Application Form for a new member to fill in your name as the referring member. Please help us to promote your club by referring a sport bike rider and mentoring a new racer.
  • We are also increasing our efforts to retain and add workers as club members.  As all racers know, the volunteer workers are the lifeblood of the club, and we would not be racing without them.  This year we will be adding a new incentive program to increase worker club memberships.  For each new worker that attains the required 3 working days to achieve their complimentary membership and completes the membership application, that worker will receive 2 bonus worker points after submitting their membership application.  In addition, the referring club member will receive 3 bonus worker points.  The new worker should fill in the referring club members name on the “If you were referred by…” of the membership application to make sure they are credited with the worker referral bonus points.
  • The CRA Board of Directors is very committed to any and all cost constraints possible to maintain reasonable pricing to our membership. The cost of membership has not increased for the 2014 season.  In addition, pricing for double sprint weekends will be reviewed in an effort to standardize the costs of these special event weekends.

2014 New Racer Seminar

New Riders will have the option of paying the full $185 fee that covers~ NR School, 2014 License, Friday practice, Transponder Rental (on your New Rider weekend) and the New Rider Race and Membership for that season.

Or paying $20 which only covers the classroom portion presented in March at the New Rider Class at MotoPrimo.

The fees stated above are based off the 2013 fee schedule set by the CRA and may possibly change for 2014.

Anyone who completed the classroom portion last year (March 2013) but did not do the on track portion will need to contact Gus Aramayo at
vp@cra-mn.com to find out the details as to what fees are or are not applied to the 2014 New Rider classroom program.

You can come early to register and fill out and turn in necessary forms on that day. No need to preregister for this.

On behalf of the CRA, I would like to extend a huge Thank You to MotoPrimo and their staff for hosting the Seminar. This is a great venue.

I have been in contact with MotoPrimo and have been told they are again as in past years putting together special one day pricing/discounts on merchandise for that day. More details as to what merchandise products, brand names, ect. will be coming soon. As soon as I know I will pass along the info. Exact numbers can not be made public because of contract agreements with their suppliers and vendor, however in the past the discounts have been significant. Discounts will be on parts, supplies and gear.

The special one day (March 23rd) pricing on merchandise at MotoPrimo is available to all current 2014 CRA members. Members only, MotoPrimo is not open to the public for this is a private event for the CRA.
