June Pre-Registration Now Open

Posted: May 21, 2011 by Race Registration in Announcements, Race Registration, Racers

Just a reminder about how pre-registration for double sprint weekends works…

1) Make sure when choosing your races, you are paying attention to if they are Sat or Sun. The races will be labeled appropriately.

2) There is separate pricing for Sat and Sun. If you race both days, you will get even more of a discount the 2nd day. The price structure is listed below.

3) Since our “shopping cart” can not handle this pricing structure, you will be required to make a down payment for your pre-registration. This will be $150. You will pay the remaining balance at the track before racing. MAKE SURE TO SELECT THE DOWN PAYMENT OPTION, it will be a button like the races. If you do not select this, your order will appear as $0 and you will be asked to resubmit your order. Check your balance before you select check out. If there is not $150 there, it’s not right.

4) You will receive an email within a few days of your pre-registration indicating the balance due at the track.

5) You are responsible for the balance even if you don’t race, just as if you would have paid it all up front on a normal weekend’s pre-reg. Cancellations BEFORE deadline are acceptable. AFTER deadline you have to fill out a refund form that goes before the BoD. So, expect to pay the balance.

1st day pricing (Sat, or Sun if you don’t race Sat)
1 sprint: $40
2nd: $35
3rd: $30
4th and more: $25

2nd day pricing (for Sun, only if you race Sat)
1 sprint: $35
2nd: $25
3rd: $20
4th and more: $15

You have to race a minimum of 3 sprints on day one to get the day two discount.

Please let Anna or Kim know if you have questions.

Press Release – May Weekend – RRW

Posted: May 3, 2011 by Vice President in Announcements, Press Releases

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=44255

As many of you know our July weekend is a dual event with BIR’s annual Show-N-Go weekend. This means not only will we have more spectators than ever, it also means BIR will be charging double our normal gate entry fee for all participants.

The CRA Board of Directors has negotiated the opportunity to pre-sell July passes for CRA participants at the standard gate fee!

Here’s how it will work: BIR will create serialized vouchers for the May and June CRA weekends and issue them to our race registration folks. The vouchers will be available for sale during normal registration hours. You’ll trade the vouchers in at the gate during the July event for an entry pass equivalent to the voucher. They will be good for either Fri – Sun ($30), or Sat & Sun ($20) adults only (those arriving on Thursday evening will have to pay an additional $5 at the gate to enter the track that night.) The voucher will be non refundable, and will not be upgradable at the July event. For example, if you purchase a Sat & Sun voucher in advance and show up on Friday you would have to purchase a Friday only pass for $20 in addition to presenting the voucher.

Please be sure to take advantage of this discounted entry price by purchasing July vouchers from race registration during the May and June events.

CRA Volunteers Prep New Trailer!

Posted: April 15, 2011 by President in Volunteers

On a chilly morning in early April the CRA Course Marshals gathered at the home of Dennis Kronberg to customize the new CRA trailer. The work included emptying and sorting all the CRA gear from the old trailer, which due to its poor unsafe condition had to be brought down to the cities on a flatbed trailer.

Old CRA Trailer – It worked for years, but we’re glad to see it go!

The team got to work sealing the walls and floor of the new trailer, building customized racks for fire extinguishers, and brooms, and creating the workable layout for the efficient distribution and collection of the equipment around the track at each corner station.

Plenty of room for all of our gear!

All this work wasn’t just some trial and error operation though. The team had been planning the layout for weeks ahead of time. Sharing emailed diagrams, pictures, and mocked up floor plans. By the time Saturday the 2nd rolled around they had a good idea what it would take to get the most out of the new trailer.

Teamwork!

The brand new trailer was made possible due to financial planning by the 2010 and 2011 Board of directors, a gracious matching donation from Bob Fier Racing, discount pricing from Absolute Trailer Sales, and a portion of funds raised via the Sons of American Legion omelet breakfasts we all enjoy at the track.

Brand new CRA equipment trailer – 7 x 14 Haulmark

As with most gatherings arranged and hosted by CRA Course, the day took on a party-like atmosphere complete with food and beverages provided.

 Mmmmmmm…

The work progressed quickly including the cutting and welding of custom-built aluminum racks for brooms and fire bottles. Materials donated and expert welding performed by Brad Zajics ensured the Course team was able not only able to fit everything in, but arrange it exactly where they wanted it. Thanks Brad!

The welder!

When all was done, not only was the trailer organized better than ever, there was even some room left over. I may have misheard, but as I left I thought I heard something about adding a small refrigerator inside…to help preserve the frozen snacks they occasionally deliver to corners on hot days of course!

Thanks to all who came to help out. Hopefully I didn’t forget anyone: Terry, Dennis, Anne, Tracy, J.P., Jay, Brad, Matthew, and Ryan.
